ALASSIO, ȧ-läs′syṓ. A seaport of Italy on the Gulf of Genoa, 57 miles southwest of the city of Genoa (Map: Italy, C 3). In winter it is frequented by foreigners, particularly by English-speaking people, and in summer the excellent bathing attracts Italians. The natives are mostly fishermen and boat builders.
