COLORADO, RIO, rē′ō̇. A river of Central Argentina, rising in the Andes and flowing southeast. It empties into the Atlantic in about latitude 39° 50′ S. (Map: Argentina, E 11). Its entire length is about 700 miles, but it is navigable for light vessels for only a couple of hundred miles. The upper course is through a desert.
