OHLIGS, ō′lĭKs (formerly Merscheid). A
town in the Rhine Province, Prussia, near the
Rhine, 10 miles southeast of Düsseldorf (Map:
Prussia, B 3). There are manufactures of steel
goods, umbrella frames, cloth, silk, and bricks.
Population, in 1900, 20,682.
