Obituary

A correspondent writes :—"May I supplement your notice of the late Mr. Edward Walford by mentioning that he edited the Gentleman's Magazine from January, 1866 to May, 1868, when Mr. Joseph Hatton took up the work? In 1880 Mr. Walford started the Antiquary, but his name disappears from the title-page after the second half-yearly volume, a matter which was a standing grievance with him for a very long time. He started a rival periodical, the Antiquarian Magazine and Bibliographer, in 1882, and it lived for about six years."

This work was published in 1897 and is anonymous or pseudonymous due to unknown authorship. It is in the public domain in the United States as well as countries and areas where the copyright terms of anonymous or pseudonymous works are 126 years or less since publication.
