EDITOR'S NOTE

In the old editions of Fragmenta Aurea, Suckling's letters and other prose works are printed to follow the poems. In the present edition the prose works are printed at the end of the book, after the poems and the dramas; and three pieces, which on later authority have been ascribed to Suckling, and were printed in Mr. Hazlitt's edition of the works, here follow the poems comprised in the Last Remains. These three pieces have been re-edited, and the original readings of the Cantilena Politica-Jocunda have been restored.
