Educ. at Trinity College, Dublin, and St. Vincent's Hospital; ophthalmic and aural surgeon; Irish linguistic scholar; Prof, of Ophthalmology and Otology, and Lecturer on Modern Irish at University College, Galway, and member of its Governing Body; Principal of Connacht Irish College, Spiddal. Ex-Principal of Leinster College of Irish, Dublin. Author of (in Irish prose) Udhacht an Stiocaire and Bas Gofradlia Ui Dhomhnaill; and of a number of popular manuals for Irish Students and teachers, including A Handbook of Modern Irish (in four parts); b. 1862; m. 1917, Miss Jane Louisa Little, of Galway, and has issue two daus..
