Re: Repeal of the Announcements of the Council for Democratic Reform Nos 17 and 18 dated the 22nd day of September 2549 Buddhist Era


Following the issuance of the Announcements of the Council for Democratic Reform No 17 dated the 22nd day of September 2549 Buddhist Era, Re: Delegation of powers to handle public administration of State and No 18 dated the 22nd day of September 2549 Buddhist Era, Re: Amendments to the law on the Royal Thai Police, it is now appropriate to have the public affairs of the Royal Thai Police Agency handled in accordance with the law previously in force, for which reason the Chief of the Council for Democratic Reform announces as follows:

Article1.The Announcements of the Council for Democratic Reform No 17 dated the 22nd day of September 2549 Buddhist Era, Re: Delegation of powers to handle public administration of State and No 18 dated the 22nd day of September 2549 Buddhist Era, Re: Amendments to the law on the Royal Thai Police shall be repealed.

Article2.The provisions of the Royal Thai Police Act, 2547 BE in force prior to the effective day of the Announcement of the Council for Democratic Reform No 18 dated the 22nd day of September 2549 Buddhist Era, Re: Amendments to the law on the Royal Thai Police shall resume its force as before.

Article3.The repeal of the Announcements of the Council for Democratic Reforms under article 1 shall not affect anything done during the application of the said Announcements of the Council for Democratic Reform and proceedings shall be carried out to establish a Police Commission according to the Royal Thai Police Act, 2547 BE within sixty days from the effective day of this Announcement.

Whilst there is still no Police Commission under paragraph 1, the persons forming the Police Commission under the Announcement of the Council for Democratic Reform No 18 dated the 22nd day of September 2549 Buddhist Era shall serve as the Police Commission for the time being.
