In honor of Jacob of Heemskerck from Amsterdam, a very brave man and serving well his motherland, who after several voyages to known and uncharted shores - two voyages to Novaya Zemlya beneath the Arctic Pole, and just as many towards the South Pole to East India – returned from there triumphantly with the best spoils in the year 1604.
