No. 2. DECLARATION OF THE NETHERLANDS RECOGNIZING AS COMPULSORY THE JURISDICTION OF THE COURT, IN CONFORMITY WITH ARTICLE 36, PARAGRAPH 2, OF THE STATUTE OF THE INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE

I declare that the Netherlands Government recognizes as compulsory ipso facto and without special agreement, in relation to any other Member of the United Nations and any other State accepting the same obligation, that is to say, on condition of reciprocity, the jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice in conformity with Article 36, paragraph 2, of the Statute of the Court, for a period of ten years as from 6 August 1946 and thereafter until notification of abrogation is made, on any future disputes, except those in regard to which the parties would have agreed, after the coming into force of the Statute of the Permanent Court of International Justice, to have recourse to another method of pacific settlement.
