Secretary of State to appoint an additional clerk; with what salary.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, That the more effectually to do and perform the duties in the Department of State, the Secretary of the said department be, and is hereby authorized to appoint an additional clerk in his office, who shall be allowed an equal salary, to be paid in the same manner as is allowed by law to the chief clerk.
