Chap. IV.—An Act extending the time for opening the several Land-offices established in the territory of Orleans.

Further time allowed for opening land-offices.
Act of Feb. 15, 1811, ch. 14.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That so much of the sixth section of an act, entituled “An act providing for the final adjustment of claims to lands and for the sale of the public lands in the territories of Orleans and Louisiana, and to repeal the act passed for the same purpose and approved February sixteenth, one thousand eight hundred and eleven,” as directs that the several land-offices established in the territory of Orleans shall be opened on the first day of January and on the first day of February, one thousand eight hundred and twelve, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

Lands-offices to be opened on such days as may be designated by the President.Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said land-offices shall, respectively, be opened on such day or days as the President of the United States shall, by proclamation, designate for that purpose; and the public land shall, in every other respect, be offered for sale at the said offices in the same manner as is directed by the aforesaid act.
