Chap. LXXXV.—An Act making additional appropriations for the support of Government for the year one thousand eight hundred and twelve.

Specific appropriations.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That in addition to the sums appropriated by the act making appropriations for the support of government for the year one thousand eight hundred and twelve, the following sums be, and the same are hereby respectively appropriated, that is to say:

For defraying the expenses of printing the subscription certificates, and issuing the same to the subscribers to the loan of eleven millions of dollars, authorized by the act of Congress passed on the fourth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and twelve, including cost of paper and other expenses incident to the receiving of the subscriptions; also for cost of paper and printing of the certificates of funded six per cent. stock to be issued for the amount of said loan, and other expenses attending the funding of the same, five thousand dollars.

For the expenses of making a digest of the manufactures of the United States, under the joint resolution of both Houses of Congress, passed at the present session, two thousand dollars.

For compensation to the marshals and assistant marshals for taking an account of the manufactures of the United States, in addition to the sum heretofore appropriated for that purpose, forty thousand dollars.

For the expense of firewood, stationery, printing and other contingent expenses of the two houses of Congress, in addition to the sum heretofore appropriated for that purpose, eight thousand eight hundred dollars.

“For paying Aaron Greely, assistant surveyor in the district of Detroit for surveying private claims in the Michigan territory, pursuant to an 1812, ch. 65.act of Congress, passed the twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and twelve, five thousand five hundred and sixty-five dollars and ninety-three cents.”

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the several sums thus appropriated shall be paid out of any monies in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
