Chap. CCXXIX.An Act to extend the jurisdiction of the corporation of the city of Washington over the Potomac bridge.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,Bounds extended. Corporation empowered to adopt rules, &c. That the bounds of the county of Washington, and of the corporation of the city of Washington, be, and the same are hereby, extended so far as to comprehend the causeway and bridge lately constructed from the said city across the river Potomac, to the opposite shore: and the said corporation are hereby empowered to adopt and enforce such rules and regulations as they may deem necessary for the safety and security of property and of the persons passing the said causeway and bridge.
