No. 4. Joint Resolution directing certain papers relating to titles to land in Louisiana, to be returned to the General Land Office.
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,Certain papers to be returned to the General Land Office.
1835, ch. 17. That the Secretary of the Senate and the Clerk of the House of Representatives be, and they are hereby, instructed to furnish to the Commissioner of the General land office, the original reports from the several Land Offices in the State of Louisiana, made under the provisions of an act entitled “An act for the final adjustment of claims to land in the State of Louisiana,” approved February sixth, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-five; also the title-papers and evidence relating to claims in said reports, confirmed by an act entitled1842, ch. 50.
Proviso. “An act confirming certain land claims in Louisiana,” approved July sixth, one thousand eight hundred and forty-two: Provided, That claimants shall be entitled to withdraw their original title-papers after fair copies shall have been taken by the Commissioner of the General Land Office.
