Chap. LXXIII.An Act making appropriations for certain improvements in the Territory of Iowa.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,Appropriations. That the following sums of money be, and they are hereby appropriated, out of nay money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be expended under the direction of the Secretary of War, for the improvement and constructionImprovement of roads from― of the following roads in the Territory of Iowa, to wit:

Mississippi bluffs to Iowa city.From the Mississippi bluffs, opposite to the town of Bloomignton, to Iowa city, five thousand dollars;

Mississippi bluffs to Fox agency.
Proviso.
From the Mississippi bluffs, opposite the town of Burlington, to the old Sac and Fox agency, (Agency road, so called,) five thousand dollars: Provided, That such changes in the location of said road, and in the positions of the bridges thereon, may be adopted as shall be approved by the War Department;

Dubuque to Missouri.From Dubuque, to the northern boundary of Missouri (the Military road, so called,) eight thousand dollars;

Harbor at Dubuque.For the improvement of the harbor at the town of Dubuque, in addition to the appropriation of last year, seven thousand dollars.
