Manifesto for Revolt
The essence of our divine land is the national polity. Through the reign of the Emperor, ongoing from time immemorial, the polity has unified the nation and made it prosperous; it will spread through the world. The national polity's majesty and excellence has, from the creation of the land by the gods and the foundation of the nation by Emperor Jimmu through to the Meiji Restoration, prepared the framework; there is no doubt that now is the time to cast off false teachings and spread the truth in all directions.
Recently immoral villains have appeared one after another, filled with wanton selfishness and disregard for the Emperor's absolute majesty. They exceed their station, working to obstruct the prosperity of the people, making them languish in pain and misery. Accordingly, foreign countries look down on us and threats to our nation intensify by the day.
The so-called genro, senior statesmen, military factions, zaibatsu, bureaucrats, and political parties are the source of this destruction of the national polity. The London Naval Treaty, the violation of the Emperor's supreme authority caused by the dismissal of the Inspector-General of Military Education, the March Incident which sought to usurp the Emperor's supreme command over the military, and the students, communists, and treasonous religious groups which have unified to conspire; these are the most clear examples. These evils piling up to the heavens have caused unparalleled levels of despair and anger. The sacrifices of Nakaoka, Sagoya, and the League of Blood, the May 15th Incident, and the actions of Lt. Col. Aizawa were truly not without cause. And yet, even now, after these acts of purification, they still cling to selfishness and private rights, transient things, without the slightest repentance or reflection. The situation with Russia, China, Britain, and America is critical; that this divine land left us by our ancestors could be destroyed is something easier to see than a blazing fire.
Now, as we are faced with great emergencies both foreign and domestic, if we do not execute the disloyal and unrighteous who threaten the national polity, if we do not cut away the villians who obstruct the Emperor's authority, who block the Restoration, the Imperial plan for our nation will come to nothing. At any moment, an Imperial order to mobilize the 1st Division will be given; our comrades stationed in the capital, who seek to serve by sacrificing their lives for the nation, and have sworn to support the Restoration, will start on a long journey. As they look upon the state of the nation, they will be unable to restrain their grief.
To cut away the evil ministers and military factions near the Emperor and destroy their heart: that is our mission and we will complete it. If we do not devote ourselves to our absolute path as servants of the Emperor, we will be unable to prevent the destruction of the national polity. To all those who feel this same grief, rise up with us. Destroy the villians, confirm justice, defend the national polity, and use all your wisdom to spread the truth. By doing so, you show your devotion as a son of this divine land.
We pray that the Imperial ancestors look down upon us and grant us their aid.
