Josh Rock

Josh Rock is an American born musician/writer from Glenview, Illinois. He currently sings in a band called The Hangout. He is also well known for discovering and managing the bands: The Poonanies, Knockout, Fall Out Boy, and First Class at one time or another. He currently manages 4 bands and 2 actors. The song "Far More," by Chicago Pop Punk band Knockout is about Josh Rock and was released on Fearless Records in October 2002 and produced by Sean O'Keefe. Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump and Knockout's T.j. Minich provide the backing vocals.

He has also written a movie script with legendary movie writer and producer Steve Zacharias titled "The Hangout," (Revenge of the Nerds, Happy Days, In the Army Now, Partridge Family, Johnny B. Goode etc). Zacharias also won an Emmy for writing an episode of All In the Family and has coached and mentored Josh Rock since 2003.

Over the course of his young career he has written and been produced by Dan Precision (ex Rise Against, 88 Finger's Louie, Break the Silence guitarist). He also recorded one song, "The Side Effects of Hope," out in LA with Producer Christopher Fudurich on April 7th of 2009. Ethan Roberts who currently plays guitar for Selena Gomez plays and helped write the song along with Fudurich. Since then he has recorded a song with Andrew James Simon (ex guitarist of Christian rock band Super Chick, ex singer of First Class, and SKG) who produced and played guitar on a demo song titled "For Yolinda."

After Lobster Records/ Oort Records heard "The Side Effects of Hope," they offered Josh a record contract in May/June of 2009. He has stated that he is going to finish film school first but absolutely loves Lobster/ Oort Records and Santa Barbara.

In November of 2010 he recorded a song again with Dan Precision called, "The Soundtrack to Your Heart," Dan Precision plays guitar on the song and helped write some of the music. His first song was recorded in 2006 by Benjamin Zastrow. Zastrow and Josh Rock also started an internet show in 2006 called, "The Show." The show went on hiatus in 2008 after they interviewed the Starting Line for episode 5.

He has also stated he will only play small clubs, dive bars, festivals, New York, or in Japan.

He acknowledges Jeff Warren, Adam Mufich, and Brian Bennis as his best friends.

He is also notably related to famous Norwegian poets Olav and Kjell Aukrust as well as a descendant of King Haakon IV who ruled Norway from 1217 to 1263.
