Uploading of files & DjVu formatEdit
Gday. Thanks for your contributions. Wikisource has a general policy that files are preferably uploaded to Commons: unless there are copyright reasons that do not allow them to be housed on Commons, then we can house them. We also have a preference for Djvu files as they actually can be displayed with the text, and we can extract the text directly from the files.
It would be great if we could look to convert the files to DjVu format and upload to Commons (copyright permissible). Happy to lend advice and some help if required. -- billinghurst (talk) 00:55, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- Considering that upload allows you to upload PDFs and help doesn't explain that PDFs should be converted into DjVu files, I just wasted several hours uploading these files. I'll add something to that effect and someone else can change it. I don't know when I'll have all those hours to put into doing that work again. I'll put a note in the main file talk page meanwhile. Gday Carol. Just had my attention drawn to the morons' action. <facepalm> We would love to have you back and editing when you are back in the mood. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:51, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. I definitely will try to get in the habit of uploading some good public domain stuff I have as I have a chance to sort through several years of documents thrown in the filing folders. I know there is far much less nonsense here!!!! :-) Carolmooredc (talk) 18:33, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
