Bot request edit

(10:27:00) BewareofDoug: JackPotte, you have a page move bot on en.ws, right?
(10:27:29) BewareofDoug: Any interest in a small (25-30 page) job?
(10:28:18) BewareofDoug: If not, I'll ask Spangineer
(10:34:02) JackPotte: BewareofDoug: sorry I'm back
(10:34:08) JackPotte: what's the list?
(10:36:03) BewareofDoug: OK, just a second
(10:36:23) BewareofDoug: http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Essays_%28Francis_Bacon%29
(10:37:10) BewareofDoug: The subpages need to be moved to /Essays, civil and moral (Harvard Classics)/
(10:37:19) JackPotte: let's go :)
(10:37:32) BewareofDoug: the main page too but I can do that by hand if neeeded
(10:37:54) BewareofDoug: What will it leave?
(10:38:22) BewareofDoug: the sub pages can be dated soft redirects if you can do that or I can add them with my bot later
(10:38:34) JackPotte: ok
(10:39:18) BewareofDoug: Afterwards, I'll turn the main page into a dab
(10:42:20) BewareofDoug: Do you need me to generate a real list of pages or have you got it?
(10:42:30) BewareofDoug: Since that list are all relative links
(10:50:56) JackPotte: I have the script to generate it
(10:53:12) BewareofDoug: OK, great
(10:54:54) JackPotte: by default, movepages.py will leave some "hard redirects"
(10:55:27) BewareofDoug: OK, that's fine, I can replace them later with dated softs
(11:37:14) JackPotte: BewareofDoug: http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Essays,_civil_and_moral_%28Harvard_Classics%29&action=edit&redlink=1 (the main page) doesn't exist yet
(11:37:18) JackPotte: is it normal?
(11:37:56) BewareofDoug: It's fine, the main page "Essays (Francis Bacon)" will move there
(11:38:04) JackPotte: go
(11:38:37) BewareofDoug: I just didn't want to move the main page before you started because the links are relative
(11:39:21) JackPotte: BewareofDoug: so I'm doing the both now

I've checked and I'm beginning now. JackPotte (talk) 10:26, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Page Triage edit

Have you looked over the new patrolling feature I proposed us enabling at the Scriptorium? It does not interfere with the current method of patrolling so no one would be forced to switch if it were brought in. --BirgitteSB 01:38, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I'll answer into Wikisource:Scriptorium#Page_Triage. JackPotte (talk) 20:05, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Template edits edit

The sequence of edits you made changing {{DNB ME}} to {{DNB MES}} was actually not helpful. Charles Matthews (talk) 08:55, 4 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sorry but I've searched a while before and didn't found any other DNB references than Michael E. Sadler. The editor really seems to have cut his S to save some place. JackPotte (talk) 09:01, 4 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
But you've just created Author:Mortimer Epstein so I was wrong. JackPotte (talk) 09:04, 4 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Well, indeed. And the principle of Wikisource is not to change the original text: you changed the templates, which did change the text. Also in this diff you changed the transclusion markup. You were searching in the contributor list for the first edition (1885 to 1900), but the text you were changing is for the second supplement (1912).

Please take greater care in future. Charles Matthews (talk) 09:16, 4 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I'll do, thanks a lot. JackPotte (talk) 09:22, 4 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
