Hello Stratford490, welcome to Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here.

You'll find an (incomplete) index of our works listed at Wikisource:Works, although for very broad categories like poetry you may wish to look at the categories like Category:Poems instead.

Please take a glance at our help pages (especially Adding texts and Wikisource's style guide). Most questions and discussions about the community are in the Scriptorium.

The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page! John Vandenberg (chat) 13:54, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes, welcome to Wikisource! I have added the previous and next links for Chapter I and Chapter II so you can follow the format for all the other pages. Great work! Suicidalhamster 23:05, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Links to other language wikisEdit

A quick note, but you can link to works on other WMF wikis with simple code, for example [[la:Catcher in the Rye]] would link to the Latin version, while [[de:Catcher in the Rye]] would link to the German (Deutsche) one. The two-letter combination is simply the one that precedes "wikisource" in the url for that wiki. Sherurcij 20:17, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for that. I'm getting the hang of it, and it's fun seeing the new accounts automatically created every time I click on one of these links, though for some reason it doesn't work with Latin Wikipedia. Stratford490 20:35, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

defaultsort: thanksEdit

Hi Stratford490, thanks for defaultsorting some of the titles beginning with quotes. Did you know the software can display all such titles using Special:Prefixindex, e.g. Special:Prefixindex/"? Just FYI in case you intended to fix all such titles (you need not feel obliged to do that, of course).--GrafZahl (talk) 08:21, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank you. It's useful to know that. I may indeed find myself doing some of that kind of work in the next few weeks, as I (temporarily) no longer have access to my printed copy of Montaigne's essays, so can't do the copyediting I had intended, and perhaps should not keep adding more without being able to check what I'm adding against a printed souce. "Just give me the list"Edit

I was so glad to hear that! :)

If these can all be done within the 30-90 day timeframe, I'd appreciate it :) Sherurcij Collaboration of the Week: Author:Albert Schweitzer 23:23, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Wow! That's quite a challenge. But I accept it on condition that you leave out Zola. I hate Zola! I'll start on Trollope no later than next week. :) Stratford490 (talk) 12:18, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
