New Hampshire by Robert Frost edit

I was working on Robert Frost's page and noticed that New Hampshire was published in 1923. Is that bad? This is not a complaint just a comment. --Droll 01:07, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Easton's Bible Dictionary edit

Hi Zhaladshar. Thanks for your comments on my talk page re: Easton's Bible Dictionary. I did in fact consider creating a Wikiproject to help manage this project -- I even created a link on the Wikiproject page, previewed, and then cancelled. My concern is that there will be no volunteers. There are very few Wikiprojects on Wikisource yet, and most of them have very few members. I don't want to start something just to be the only member.

On the other hand, I would like to see Wikisource eventually do something even bigger than Easton's Bible Dictionary, and include several other similar dictionaries (of which there are a few online, and in the public domain). So if I were to create a Wikiproject, it would be Wikiproject Bible dictionaries. I think having several dictionaries is useful to Wikisource -- though maybe not hugely useful, since they are widely available from other sites -- but also to Wikipedia as references and external links.

It seems like it'd be rather simple to copy and wikify these dictionaries with a bot, but unfortunately I don't program. I don't know if creating a Wikiproject would make it easier to find someone who could make one. And I'm still very unsure about whether we could attract volunteers. So, in short, I don't know. --Tetraminoe 06:57, 1 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

On second thought, I see at least one other person has suggested I create a Wikiproject for this, so I guess I'll give it a shot. Please see Wikisource:WikiProject Bible dictionaries if you'd like to join. Thanks again for your input. --Tetraminoe 07:01, 1 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Moving article edit

Could you move the article for me coz I don't know how to do it. It is in Chinese language. --CharlieHuang 16:07, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

RE: Pictures edit

All of the pictures that I put on the old WS have been moved over to the new one as far as I know, so you can go ahead and delete all of my pictures on the old WS. Nonenmac 20:45, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Template pages edit

I have much admired the format of the page you have been working on with the templates for inter-wiki links. I suggest that when we have got sorted the list of templates for text editing, these are presented in the same way, so one ccan readily see what is wanted and how to do it. I must revise /expand the present Help:Templates page when we are ready. Kind regards. Apwoolrich 19:28, 3 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

A how to edit help page edit

Hullo and Happy New Year. I am thinking we might profit by having a help page on the mechanics of editing for WS, now we are in sight of having the templates codified. I shall be grateful if you could critique the draft on my talk page.Apwoolrich 19:59, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your response. I plan to have proper links, as I have done on the other Help pages I have written. I have not been able to do it since I don't yet know what the proper titles are for the various templates. I shall delay finalising this until User:GregRobson has finished his work after input from the rest of us. I agree that some sections will need expansion. I just knocked this off as an outine of what I have in mind.
I work on dial-up, and find it simpler to do as much prelminary editing of a new text as I can off-line before posting it. Hence this procedure I have worked out for myself. Am I assuming too much in thinking that editors will have a text editor and even know what split-screen working is?
Something else I have noted is that a number of long book texts have been posted entire, with no separate chapter documents. It does not seem possible to jump from from chapter to chapter using the templates we now have. There is a lot of work to be done on points like these. Kind regards. Apwoolrich 19:07, 5 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Does the chapter template you have noted only work where chapters are separate documents, or will it work where chapters in a long document are demarcated by the == Lipsem Lorem == Wiki code. I have never seen it such a document. Apwoolrich 19:47, 5 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Help on Samuel Smiles edit

Hi, I have got in a mess with renaming the Samuel Smiles stuff on the project page.It is now The Samuel Smiles Project and this page shows red. I can't see anyway of making it change colour. Any thoughts on where I have gone wrong, please Apwoolrich 19:57, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

If I key in The Samuel Smiles Project in the search box, the re-named page correctly shows up. Apwoolrich 20:00, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks for sorting this. I have made the alteration and its OK now. Apwoolrich 12:13, 8 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Patrolled edits edit

Do we have patrolled edits enabled for recent changes? How does it work?--BirgitteSB 16:42, 9 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well I found this m:Help:Patrolled edit. It looks like something we could enable here if we have MediaWiki 1.4. I would like to have it personally, and I think it would save duplicated effort. I suppose we would need to diccuss whether anyone should be able to mark edits as patrolled or just sysops.--BirgitteSB 13:11, 12 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello edit

Hello, I just found out that you are a bureaucrat here. I want to request a few things, I hope it works. Since you are a bureaucrat, can you rename me to User:Water Bottle? Also, can you delete the talk page before moving it and redirecting it to the new one? It's not linked anywhere, and yeah. Thank you, have a great day. -- WB 05:36, 10 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Redirecting edit

Nice to have your help in redirecting D.D. Sheehan to Author:Daniel Desmond Sheehan. I tried but didn't have the right tool. Gratefully Osioni 22:18, 13 January 2006 (UTC) (I'm logged in. why does the link not show ?)Reply

I noticed my signature Osioni was still appearing in red, but now that I have edited my user page, that is now fixed. Bye. Osioni 18:14, 14 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

A new problem: I have created a link in the Wikipedia at the bottom of "National Volunteers" to Author:D.D. Sheehan in the Wikisource but the responce is that no such author exists in the Wikisource, although he does. Where is the hitch in the link ? Can you solve it for me, or better tell me how to set it up for the future. Many thanks. Osioni 16:53, 15 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

your message edit

hi sorry it's all kinda confusing to me,

which one do you mean now exactly. I am trying to create at least a redirect to the German language version, since the English one does not exist yet. Gryffindor 22:19, 17 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

yes precisely. There is unfortunately no entry on the Empress Elisabeth of Austria. Users using regular Wikipedia will at least be redirected to the German entry if they want to inform themselves further, which you can click on. As soon as an English version is created, the redirect can obviously be down-graded to a simply language link, but I would like to at least give users the opportunity to inform themselves on the German language version until an English one appears. I unfortunately first made the entry in the German name, until I realised that it should be in English here obviously. Gryffindor 22:28, 17 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Requesting username change edit

Hi Zhaladshar,

could you please rename my user account from the current User:Jrohr to User:Johannes Rohr (Special:Renameuser)?

I'm contacting you directly as I did not find an equivalent to w:WP:CHU around here. Thanks a lot in advance! --Jrohr 16:57, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! --Johannes Rohr 09:12, 30 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

A Thought edit

I see you are splitting Fanny Hill. Wikifying that one would be fun )-: Do we have a Category:Erotica? I suggest we do, since more is likely to be posted. I see someone recently posted a number of Burns's erotic poems from The Merry Muses of Caledonia. There may well be more erotic titles already on WS. Kind regards. Apwoolrich 20:35, 31 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

PS I have written a piece about other digital libraries and modifed the title page link. I was not sure about moving the Project Gutenberg disussion so left it alone.

I meant, should this PG discussion page be added to the digital librares discussion page? No I will add a link to it on the DL discussion page, so we don't lose it. Apwoolrich 20:59, 31 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism edit

Looks as though we got all of them. But you are obvously much faster at it than I am, probably because I am on dial-up. When I saw you were involved I tried working from the bottom up, but the cache was slow to record the changes . Apwoolrich 21:34, 31 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Poetry edit

No problem, I was wondering if I should have done that. BTW, could you also look at Discourses on Livy? I want to know if I've split that correctly, seeing as how it's three books.--Shanel 00:02, 4 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
