Missionary atTai-An-Fu, Shantung, 1887-93; Chaplain to Eng. residents at Chefoo 1893-96; Tai-An-Fu 1897-1900; escaped during Boxer outbreak and took refuge in Corea; appointed chaplain at Wei-Hai-Wei, 1901; tansferred to Tientsin, 1903; in Eng. on furlough, 1904; appointed Priest in charge of S.P.G. work at Peking, 1905.
