Arrived in China in connection with China Inland Mission, Jan., 1888; while studying language travelled to Missionary stations on Yangtze River as far as Sha-shu; appointed Schofleld Memorial Hospital, Taiyuen, Shansi, 1891; appointed to medical work in connection with Training Home at Yangchow, and stationed at Chinkiang in 1892, where has since remained.
