Worked on many philanthropic Committees before marriage; organising Secretary and now President of the Tien Tsu Hui, or Antifootbinding Society of China; Vice-President of the Women's Conference at Shanghai, 1900; has delivered lectures before the Geographical Societies of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, South Shields, and at the Glasgow Exhibition, and read a paper of Mr. Little's before the British Association at Glasgow.
