Essex, by whim (who d. 1st Januai-y, 1672-3, and was buried at Colwall) he had issue, EODEHT, his heir. Edward, baptised at Colwall, llth December, 1667 ; m. the daughter of Henry Clifi-e, of Matherne, co. Here- ford, an 1 ha I issue. Elizabeth, b .ptised at Colwall. 23rd Decern' fr, 1605 ; d. num. 28th Sept- ember, 16/1 , buried at the same place, 1st October, following. Mr. Bright, on his marriage with Sarah, }iis second wife, settled at Sandon. co. StaiJord, where he n as living 26th March, 1687. From this marriage descend, according to family tradition, several famihes of Bright settled in COS. Stafford and Salop, and the city of London. He settled his estate of Brockbui'y by con- veyance, dated 26th May, 1633, on his eldest son, Robert Beight, of Brockbury, bavrister- at-law, b. 1st .Tulv, and baptised at Colwall, 18lh July, 1664 ', m. there 4th April, 1687, Joyce, widow of Jo!m Hall, of Matherne, co. Hereford, gentleman, and daughter of Henry Cliffe, of Matherne, co. Hereford, and Mary his wife, daughter of Henry SIeeedith, of the city of Hereford, by whom (who d. 9th January, 1718, and was buried at Colwall) he had issue, I. Heney, liis heir. II. Robert, baptised at Coddington, co. Hereford, 20th August, 1694; d. s. p. HI. William, baptised at Coddington, aforesaid, 12lh October, l(i98; d.unm. buried at ColwaU, 24th August, 1714. I. Mr. Bright d. 1st December, 1749, and was buried at Colwall. By a deed of conveyance, dated 27th July, 1722, he settled the manor of Brockbury on his eldest son and heir, Hexet Bright, lord of the manor of Brockbury, baptised at Coddington, 8th November, 1692; m. at Henlland, co. Here- ford, 6th June, 1713, Mary, daughter of William Hill, of Wellington, in the same co., gentleman, by whom (who was b. at Welliuir- ton, 17th November, 1692, d. January, 1780, and was buried at St. Nicholas Clmrch, Bristol), he had issue, I. Robert, his heir. II. Heury, of Welland Court, co. Wor- cester (which he purchased of his brother Allen), merchant in Bristol ; high sheriff of Bristol 1755, and mayor thereof in 1772, i. 21st March, 1715, baptised at Ledbury, co. Here- ford; rf. 2otli November, 1777, buried at St. Nicholas Church, Bristol, having m. 27th September, 1746, Sarah, daughter and heir of Richard Mey- LEE, of Bristol, merchant, by whom (who d. 7th September, 1796, and was buried at St. Nicholas Church, Bristol) he had a son, Richard, of Ham Green, Somerset, of whom hereafter as heir of the family. III. William, sometime a merchant at Bristol, b. 6th Noveu.bcr, 1717; baptised at Le ibury ; m. 22ud May, 1737, Rebecca, daughter of Thomas Beoojie, of Bristol, and had two sons, 1. Ailliaai, living in Ireland in 1778 ; m. and had issue. 2. Robert, a midshipman on boanl the " Ocean " man-of-war, d. in the Sandwich Isles, 1781. IV. Allen, some time a merchant at Bristol, afterwards of Welland Court, CO. Worcester, b. 12th Ajiril, and bap- tised at Ledbuiy, 12th May, 1720; m. first, 28th February, 1745-6, Mary, daughter of William Gardner, of Slroud, CO. Gloucester; she d. 20th March, 174*i-7, and was buried at St. Nicholas Church, Bristol, leaving a son, 1. Allen, b. 20th and baptised 24th March, 1746-7; ensign 69th Regiment, d. unm. at Minehead, eo. Somerset, 21st October, and buried at St. Nicholas 25th October, 1790. Allen Bright m. secondly, 2nd July, 1750, Anne, daughter of James Hay, of the city of Worcester, and by her («lio was living at Bristol in 1778) had, with several others, who d. in infancy, another son and djinghter, 2.
