He was one of the messengers sent to the King with the intelligence of the death of archbishop Corbridge 1 9th Oct. 1304^^. He also brought to the King the tidings of the death of archbishop William de Grenefeld 13th Dec. 1315^'^. Ho died possessed of this dignity in 1332- William ue ALniiRvvic, confirmed in it Kal. Octob. (ist Oct.) 1332, after the death of Riplingham. He died in 1349. Simon de Bekingham, appointed 17th Nov. 1349, after the death of Alburwic '^'-'. His will was proved in Aug. 1369. Thomas de Fernilawe or Farylaw held it in 1369. He died in 1379. His will was proved 13th Dec. 1379- John de Sherborne was admitted in 1379. He died possessed of this dignity. John Rickengale or Rykyngale held it in 1410. From this dignity he was made bishop of Chichester in 1426. John Astcourt or Estcourt was admitted in 1426. John Kexby held it in 1427. Ob. 30th May 1432. Thomas Gascoine, admitted in 1432. Thomas Kempe held it in 1442. William de Morton in 1451. His will, dated loth Dec. 1466, was proved 27th May 1467. Thomas Chandeler, admitted 25th Feb. 1466-7, after the resignation of Morton. He held it in 1484. It had been sequestered six months on the i6th Nov. i486.
