PREBENDARIES. 315 SEVENTH STALL. Robert Dalton was appointed 12th May 1541 by the foundation charter^ and was deprived in 1560. Thomas Sampson was installed 4th Sept. 1560. He was made dean of Christ Church, Oxford, in 1561. William Birch or Birtche was installed 3rd July 1562, and was deprived in 1567. Leonard Pilkington was collated 1st Aug. and in- stalled 6th Sept. 1567. Marmaduke Blakiston, collated 27th Nov. 1620, and resigned it in 1633. Robert Blakiston was collated 27th Nov. 1633, and died in 1634. iVlATTHEw Levett was collated 24th Jan. 1634-5 and installed j 8th March following. Isaac Basire was collated 5th Dec. and installed 12th Dec. 1643. Died in 1676, being archdeacon of North- umberland. John Morton was presented 13th Oct. 1676, and was installed on the i6th of the same month. Richard Knightley was installed 9th Nov. 1677. He died 17th Sept. 1695. John Smith was presented 25th Sept. 1695, ^^^ ^^' stalled the next day. He died 30th July 17 15, and was buried in St. John's college, Cambridge. Thomas IIden was removed from the ninth stall to this 23rd Aug. 1715. Joseph Spence was presented 21st March 1754. Newton Ogle was presented 26th Oct. 1768. Robert Gray was presented 1 ith Jan. 1804.
