Second charter of foundation dated 5th March 1557. PRESIDENTS. Alexander Belsire, S.T.^.^ cation of the fourth stall of Christ Church, was made the first president of this college 29th May 1555, and deprived in 1559. William Elye, S.T.B., was the next; he came in about 1559, and was Hkewise deprived of it. William Stocke or Stocker, S.T.B., principal of Gloucester hall (now Worcester college), became the third president of this college in 1563. He resigned in 1564. John Robinson, M.A., (afterwards S.T.P.) was elected 4th Sept. 1564. He resigned 8th July 1572. He became archdeacon of Bedford and Lincoln. Tobie Matthew, M.A., canon of the secotid stall of Christ Churchy was elected 1 8th July 1572. Resigned 8th May 1577. Francis Willis, M.A., (afterwards S.T.P.) was elected 15th May 1577, and resigned 2nd July 1590. He became dean of Worcester. Ralph Hutchenson, M.A., was elected 9th June 1590. He died i6th Jan. 1605, aetat. ^'^, and was buried in the chapel. John Btckeridge, S.T.P., was elected 18th June 1605. Resigned let May 161 1. Bishop of Rochester in 161 1, and of Ely in 1628.
