Richard Baylie, S.T.B., was elected 1 2th Jan. 1632-3, and ejected by the Parliament delegates 20th Jan. 1 647-8. He became dean of Salisbury. Francis Cheynel, S.T.B., late fellow of Merton college^ was substituted by the same authority that ejected his predecessor, 13th April 1648. He resigned I2tli Sept. 1650. Thankful or Gracious Ov/es^M.A., fellow of Liticoln college, and senior proctor of the university, was con- stituted by the Parhament delegates, 6th Sept. 1650. Richard Baylie, S.T.P., was restored the latter end of July, or beginning of August, 1660. He died at Salisbury, 27th July 1667, and was buried in this college chapel. Peter Mew, Mews or Meaux, LL.D., canon of Windsor and St. David^s, and archdeacon of Berks, was elected 5th Aug. 1667. Resigned 3rd Oct. 1673. l^^'^i^ of Ro- chester in 1670. He was professor of modern history in 1736, and became dean of Exeter in 1742. 6 Archbishop Laud's remains night, 24th July 1663. were removed from Allhallows, '" Camden (Annals) says, that Harking, and placed in a vault Senhouse was made provost of imder the altar of St. John's St. John's in June 1621, vice college chapel, at ten o'clock at Laud.
