From Michael-house and King's hall, and Fiste- wick's hostel, and two or three more, arose Trinity college, being all added together and converted into one college by king Henry VIII, who dedicated the same to the holy and undivided Trinity in the year 1546, anno regni 38^-. King Edward VI gave statutes to this college 8th Nov. 1552 ; queen Eliza- beth did the like, 29th March 1559, and her present Majesty, in the year 1 844, gave a new body of statutes to this college.
