Laurence Chaderton, S.T.B., fellow 0/ Christ's col- lege, was appointed the first master by the founder in J 584; resigned in 1622. John Preston, S.T.B., fellow of Queen's college, was elected 3rd Oct. 1622 ; died 20th July 1628, and was buried in the church of Fawsly, in Northamptonshire. William Sancroft, S.T.B., was elected in 1628, and died in 1637. Richard Holdsworth, 8. 'i^.li., fellow of St. Jolm^s col- legCy was elected in 1637 ; ejected in or about 1644.
