gon woman's national press association. She is the author of Captain Gray's Company, a pioneer novel; David and Anna ilatson, and Other Poems. Duniway, Clyde Augustus, educator, college president, author, was born Nov. 2, 1866, in Albany, Ore. He was educated in the Portland high
school; at the university of Oregon; and at Cornell university. He received the degree of A.M. and of Ph.D.
from Harvard college. In 1896-97 he was an instructor of history at Harvard and Rad-

was ordained a deacon; and in later years was rector in Missouri. In 1880 he was appointed missionary bishop of New Mexico and Arizona. He died March 16, 1888. Dunlap, George Washington, lawyer, congressman, was born Feb. 22, 1813, in Fayette county, Ky. He was a member of the
Kentucky state
legislature; of the border state convention of 1861. In 1861-63 he was a representative from Kentucky to the thirty-seventh congress. He died June 6, 1880, in

For twelve years he was either president or secretary of the Illinois state horticultural society; and has been president of the American apple growers' congress since its organization in 1902. He is proprietor of the Rural home fruit farm of Savoy, 111.; and is president of the Illinois orchard company, which operates twelve hundred acres in four counties of Illinois. He is a well known grower, packer and shipper of apples of Illinois at Savoy; and since 1892 he has been a member of the Illinois state senate.
