She is the author of The Story of Sarah; The Ship of Dreams; and numerous short stories principally of Long Island. Forster, WiUiam, clergyman, missionary, was born in 1784 in England. In 1803 he became a minister of the society of Friends; and thenceforth devoted his life to missionary and benevolent labors throughout the British Isles, the continent of Europe, and the United States. He died in 1854 in Knox county, Tenn. Forsyth, Benjamin, soldier, statesman, was born in Stokes county, N.C. He was a member of the legislature of North Carolina in 1807-08. He commanded in the successful assault on Gananoque, Upper Canada, in 1812; and also at the capture of the British guard at Elizabethtown, Canada, in 1813. In 1817-33 he was United States senator. He was the fifteenth governor of Georgia in 1827-29; minister to Spain in 1819-22; and in 1834-41 he was secretary of state.
