And, as to the faid Sum of thirty-five thoufand fix hundred and two Pounds by this ASk fcrved in the AppJication appropriated on Account of Half-pay as aforefaid ; It is hereby enabled and declared by the Autho- 01 theHaJt-pay. rity aforefaid, That the Rules herein after prefcribed, (liall be duly obferved in the Application of the faid Half-pay ; that is to fay, That no Pcrfon fhall have or receive any Part of the fame, who was a Minor, and under the Age of fixteen Years, at the Time when the Regiment, Troop, or Company, in which he ferved, was reduced ; that no Perfon fhall have or receive any Part of the fame, except fuch Perfon who did aftual Service in fome Regiment, Troop, or Company ; that no Perfon having any other Place or Employment of Profit, Civil or Military, under his Majefty, Ihall have or receive any Part of the faid Half-pay ; that no Chaplain of any Garrifon or Regiment, who has any Ecclefiaftical Benefice in Grent Britain or Irehmd, jfhall have or receive any Part of the faid Half-pay ; that no Perfon fliall have or receive any Part of the fame, who has refigned his Commif- fion, and has had no Commiflion fince ; that no Part of the fame fhall be allowed to any Perfon by virtue of any W^arrant or Appointment, except to fuch Perfons as would have been otherwife in- titled to the fame, as reduced Officers ; and that no Part of the fame fhall be allowed to any of the Officers of the five Regiments of Dragoons, and eight Regiments of Foot lately difbanded in Ireland^ except to fuch as were lately taken of the Eftablifhment of Half-pay in Great Britain. XVIII. And whereas by an A61 of Parliament made and pafi'ed in the thirtieth Year of his Ma- Aa 30 Geo. s. f,i6. jefty's Reign, intituled, An ASi for granting to his Majejiy certain Sums of Money out of the Sinking Fund ; and applying certain Monies re?naining in the E,tchequer^ and the Savings out of the Monies granted in this Sejfion of Parliament for the Pay of the Troops of Hanover for the Service of the Tear one thoufand feven hundred and fifty-f even ; and for further appropriating the Supplies granted in this Sejfion of Parlia- ment ; and for Relief of CvixA Johnfon, with refpeSl to a Bond entered into by him, for f curing the Duties on Tobacco imported by George Buchanan and William Hamilton ; the leveral Supplies which had been granted to his Majefty, as is therein mentioned, were appropriated to the feveral Ufes and Purpofes therein expreifed ; amongft which, any Sum or Sums of Money not exceeding thirty- three thoufand Pounds was appropriated to be paid to the reduced Officers of his Majefty's Land Forces and Marines, fubje6t neverthelefs to fuch Rules to be obferved in the Application of the faid Half-pay, as in and by the aforefaid A 61 were prefcribed in that Behalf; Now it is hereby provided, Surplus of tUe Half- pay enadcd, and declared, by the Authority aforefaid. That fo much of the faid Sum of thirty-three arifirgfrom the laft thoufand Pounds, as is or fhall be more than fufficient to fatisfy the faid reduced Officers, according difpofcd o?
