' vr.lent to the faid former Revenue, or in Conftquence thereof, but to fuch a Proportion only of the Proportional * Dutics granted by this prefent AiSl as is applicable to the publick Service ;' Be it provided and enacSted Duties payable j^y (-'ne Authority aforefaid. That in all Cafes where a Duty of five Pounds is herein before diredled to be ui Scotland, for j,^^;^ ^^ a Licence for retailing Wine, a Duty of three Pounds fix Shillings and eight Pence, and no tai^Wne.""^ " more, fhall be paid for a Licence to retail Wine in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland; and that in C'Ji<err.ir.g fflne ail Cafes where a Duty of four Pounds is herein before directed to be paid for fuch Licence, a Duty of j'-e farther two Pounds thirteen Shillings and four Pence, and no more, fhall be paid for a Licence to retail Wine in 32C;«. 2. f. 19. that Part of Gnat Britain czWed Scotland ; and that in all Cafes where a Duty of two Pounds is herein before directed to be paid for every fuch Licence, a Duty of one Pound fix Shillings and eight Pence, and no more, fhall be pr.id for a Licence to retail Wine in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland; any Thing in this Aft contained to the contrary thereof in any wife notwithftanding. That it fhall and may be forth" Stamps Jawful for the faid CommiiTioners for managing the Duties on flamped Vellum, Parchment an4 Paper, to j^v°th"Duti« collcft: and recover, or caufe to be collected or recovered, for the Ufe of his Majefty, his Heii-s and Sue- cue on WineLi- cefi'ors, all fuch Arrears of Rent for Licences to retail Wine, or of Forfeitures for retailing Wine with- t.nccs before out Licence, which fhall have been incurred at any Time before the faid fifth Day of July one thoufand 5 July 1757' feven hundred and fifty-feven ; for which Purpofe, as well as for the better enabling them to execute the Truils hereby in them repofed, all the Books, Regifters, Papers, Infiruments, or other Writings be- longing to the faid Agents appointed by virtue of the faid Act made in the twelfth Year of the Reign of King Charles the Second, for granting Licences to retail Wine, fhall, as foon as conveniently may be, be transferred to ihe Cuflody of the faid Commifiioncrs for managing the Duties on flamped Vellum, Parchment and Paper. That for the better and more efFedual fhrir^Manage- levying, collefting, and paying all the faid additional and new Duties herein before granted, the fame ment. fhall be under the Government, Care and Management of the Commiffioners for the Time being ap- pointed to manage the Duties charged on flamped Vellum, Parchment and Paper ; who, or the major Part of thern, are hereby required and empowered to employ the necefl^ary Officers under them for that Purpofe j and to caufe fuch new Stamps to be provided to denote the faid feveral Duties, as fliall be requifite in that Behalf, and to do all other Things necefiary to be done for putting this Adt in Execu- tion with relation to the faid feveral Rates and Duties herein before granted, in the like, and in as full and ample Manner, as they, or the major Part of them, are authorized to put in Execution any former Law concerning ftamped Vellum, Parchment or Paper. One new Stamp XVIII. Provided always, and be it further enaded by the Authority aforefaid, That to prevent the to be piovidedjo ^j^iitipHcation of Stamps upon fuch Pieces of Vellum or Parchment, or Sheets or Pieces of Paper, on rafDuties on " which fevcral Duties are by feveral Afts of Parliament impofed, it fhall and may be lawful for the faid Vellum, Faper, Commiffioners, inftead of the diftincSl: Stamps directed to be provided to denote the feveral Dutics on the i:c. Vellum, Parchment or Paper, charged therewith, to caufe one new Stamp to be provided to denote thci f lid feveral Duties on every Piece of Vellum or Paichment, or Sheet or Piece of Paper, charged with the faid feveral Duties. Indentures, XIX. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid. That all Vellum, Parchment and Paper, Leafes, ^°"' upon which any Indenture, Leafe, Bond or other Deed, by this A£t charged with a Duty of one Shil- aDiitrof^is^'to^'"S' ^-*'^ from and after the faid fifth Day of July one thoufand feven hundred and fifty-feven be in- be brought to the groifL'd, written or printed, fhall be brought to the Head Office for ftamping or marking Vellum, Parch- ofSce to be mcnt and Paper ; and the faid Commiffioners by themfelves, or by their Officers employed under them, ft.impt. fhall forthwith, upon Demand to them made by any Perfon or Pcrfons, from time to time, ftamp or mark any Qiiantities or Parcels of Vellum, Parchment or Paper, to be ufed for the Purpofe of ingrofling, writing or printing fuch Indentures, Leafes, Bonds and other Deeds, he or they paynig to the Receiver General of the Stamp Duties for the Time being, or his Deputy or Clerk, the feveral Duties payable for the fame by virtue of this Adt; which Stamp or Mark to be put thereupon in purfuance of this Act, fhrdl be a fufficient Difcharge for the Duty hereby payable for the Vellum, Parchment or Paper, lo ftam.pcd or marked.
