PRINCE GEORGE WILLIAM FREDERICK CHARLES, Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Tipperary, and Baron of Culloden in the United Kingdom, Prince of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Duke of Brunswick-Luneburg, K.G., K.T.,K.P., G.C.B., G.C.S.I., G.C.H., and Grand Master of the Order of St. Michael and St. George, and Grand Cordon of the Legion of Honour, P.C. a Field Marshal, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armies of the United Kingdom, Colonel of the Royal Regiment of Artillery, of the corps of Royal Engineers, of the Grenadier Guards, and of the 17th Lancers and 60th Foot, hon. Colonel of the City of London Rifle Volunteers, Ranger of St. James's, the Green, and Hyde Parks, also of Richmond Park, President of the Royal Military College and Royal Military Asylum, a Governor of King's College, London, and President of Christ’s Hospital; b. at Hanover, 26 March, 1819, succeeded 8 .July, 1850.

Lineage.

ADOLPHUS FREDERICK, Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Tipperary, and Baron of Culloden, in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, so created 27 Nov. 1801, K.G. (7th son of George III.); b. 24 Feb. 1774; d. 8 JuIy, l850; having m. at Cassel 7 May, and in London 1 June, 1818, Princess Augusta Wilhelmina Louisa (C.I.), 3rd dau. of Frederick, Landgrave of Hesse Cassel, by whom he left a son and 2 daus.

[2] Princess Augusta Caroline Charlotte Elizabeth Mary Sophie Louisa (C.I.). b. at Hanover 19 July, 1822; in. at Buckingham Palace 28 June, 1843, Frederick William Charles George Ernest Adolphus Gustav-us, Reigning Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, K.G., G.C.B. and has an only surviving son,

George Adolphus Frederick Augustus Victor Adalbert Ernest Gustavus William Wellington, hereditary Grand Duke, G.C.B.; b. 22 July, 1848; m. 17 April, 1877, Princess Elizabeth Maria Frederica Amelia Agnes, eldest dau. of Leopold, Duke of Anhalt, and has 2 daus.

[2] Duchess Augusta Charlotte Jutta Alexandra Georgiana Adolphina, b. 24 Jan. 1880.

[3] Princess Mary Adelaide Wilhelmina Elizabeth (C.I.), b. at Hanover 27 Nov. 1833; m. at Kew, 12 .June, 1866, H.S.H. Francis Paul Charles Louis Alexander, Prince and Duke of Teck, G.C.B.; b. 27 Aug. 1837, and has 3 sons and a dau.

Arms—The royal arms of the United Kingdom, on an inescutcheon the arms of the kingdom of Hanover (being the entire coat of George III), differenced by a label of three points arg. charged with a St. George’s cross, between two hearts in pale gu.

Crest—On a coronet a lion guardant or, crowned with a coronet, differenced as the arms.

Supporters—The royal supporters, crowned and differenced as in the crest.

Residences—Gloucester House. Piccadilly, and Kew Green, Surrey. S.W..
