WYLDE. (Lieutenant, 1826.)

Sydenham Wylde died in 1845. He was only son of the late Capt. Sydenham Wylde, formerly of the 7th Hussars.

This officer entered the Navy 2 April, 1616; passed his examination in 1823; and for his services during the war in Ava, where he commanded the Boadicea’s cutter in the attack upon Melloone, was made Lieutenant, 23 Dec. 1826, into the Pandora 18, Capt. Wm. Clarke Jervoise. In that vessel he continued employed in the East Indies until about May, 1828. During the year 1836 and from 8 Jan. 1838 until the period of his death he filled an appointment in the Coast Guard.

Lieut. Wylde married Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Giles Hall, Esq., of Rickford House, Blagdon, Somersetshire. Agents – Goode and Lawrence.
