M.A. Edinburgh. Ordained minister in the Church of Scotland, 1862. F.L.S., 1869. Lecturer on Botany, St Mary's Hospital, 1879-1891. Author of Braemar: its Topography and Natural History; Lichenes Britannici; Monograph of Lichens found in Britain; &c.[1]
This author wrote articles for the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica.
