According to The Book of Scottish Song/Lament for Jamie, Bain lived in Edinburgh. His poem was clearly written sometime between 1816 and 1843. I was unable to find any further information about Bain. I was also unable to find any earlier editions of this poem, although The Book of Scottish Song does not list it as a previously unpublished work. —Beleg Âlt ^BT (talk) 14:43, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
