  • The post vacated by Mr. Frankland Dent, B.Sc., a former student and 1851 Exhibition Scholar of the College, who received a temporary appointment as Demonstrator a year ago, has been filled by the election, by the Senate, of Dr. John McCrae. Dr. McCrae studied Chemistry under Professors Dittmar and Henderson at Glasgow, and subsequently conducted research work at Heidelberg under Prof. Victor Meyer. He subsequently occupied the position of Assistant Lecturer on Chemistry in the University of Cincinnati, and returned to England on being elected to a Priestley Research Scholarship at Mason College, Birmingham, where he remained until the end of last session. —N.
