Amending Civil Service Rules Regarding State Department Positions

Subdivision II was originally added to Schedule A in late 1909 for excepted positions resulting from Executive Order 950.

Subdivision II of Schedule A relating to the State Department is hereby amended to read as follows:
1. Eight officers to aid in important drafting work.
2. Assistant solicitors.
Those 14 persons now employed in the Department of State under the item "Advancement of commercial and other interests as provided in the act approved August 5, 1909" contained in the act approved March 4, 1911, may be appointed to competitive classified positions in that department upon meeting such tests of fitness as the Civil Service Commission may prescribe.
