Images edit

Refer to page 19 for an example of how to format a "floating" image, set among the text to the right or left. --EncycloPetey (talk) 16:13, 2 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Upload all images to Commons using the same naming convention as File:How to Know the Ferns 7th ed. p. 29.jpg and place them in the category Category:Images from How to Know the Ferns, 7th edition. --EncycloPetey (talk) 01:06, 4 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

JPEG to PNG edit

I’d rather replace JPEG images with PNG ones, since this format fits better for the illustrations for this book, has no artifacts and supports transparency.--Nonexyst d 16:07, 11 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

PNG is typically preferred on Commons for black-and-white line illustrations. The choice of JPG was made by the person who began the uploading process. I followed suit with the few I did because (a) I wanted to match the extensions in use, and (b) one of my uploaded images was a color image of the cover (when jpg is preferred). If you have the time and energy to make a complete changeover, then by all means, be bold. --EncycloPetey (talk) 01:26, 12 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
