• page 1, title page of issue; idem with plate: page 145
• page 23, title page of article; page 18, title page of article (with subtitle); page 486, title page "continued"
• page 27 (notes & queries), and page 554 (id, starting with AVES)
• page 33 (new books)
• page 40 (edit. gleanings)
• page 415 (obituary)

I started working on placing the articles as a subpage of the journal/volume/issue.

• The Zoologist/4th series, vol 3 (1899)/Issue 691

An article that is followed in later issues, like The Zoologist/4th series, vol 3 (1899)/Issue 691/Original sketches of British birds, Davenport will be completely placed in the first issue; following issues directing back.

Am I going to do the same for articles that are followed in later volumes (like e.g. Biological Suggestions. Mimicry (Distant 1899).

Monthly Challenge

@Dick Bos: The remaining proofreading of The Zoologist could be a good nomination for the Monthly Challenge for beginning proofreaders. You’ve got exemplars for the formatting here. Have you found any common scannos? Are there many images? We could set up the Index page discussion with specific instructions (and any images preprepared) so new proofreaders could "just proofread". Are you familiar with Project Gutenberg proofreading guidelines? I would like to see how we can encourage proofreaders from PG to try WS. Interested? Really a good plan! I'm busy the next few days (WikidataCon). But especially validating of The Zoologist is something that is mostly careful reading in the first place, and next there can be worked on linking authors etc. --Dick Bos (talk) 16:56, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
