Orangered

edit

Normally when dealing with red ink, I'd just colour it red (#ff0000). However, when I tried colouring this image, I found that it looked awful in a pure red. So instead I coloured it orangered (#ff4500) which is closer to the original ink (which, I think, uses vermillion pigment) and it looks much better. So I decided to colour the red text orangered also, to match. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 13:36, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

"Taunymoor" and "Tom Brown's Indian Boys"

edit

These two poems were censored from the scan by the British Library, and as far as I can tell no scans of these pages are available on the Internet. The poem "Blackamoor" was also censored by the British Library, but I was able to recover it from a scan of the Cotsen exemplar in Nurse Lovechild's Legacy (2013, page 63).

I am continuing to look for scans of the two remaining missing pages. I have already reached out to the Cotsen library (with no response). I don't think it's worth reaching out to the British Library, as not only did they want these pages removed, but they also have claimed copyright over their scans, and anyway their entire digital collection is out of commission at the moment due to a recent cyberattack. I have also submitted an ILL request for the 2013 facsimile of the Cotsen exemplar. Hopefully we will end up with a complete copy of this very important work. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 13:54, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
