Robert Burns

To the tune of "Corn Rigs". It was composed by Burns from a traditional ballad. The "Annie" is Annie Rankin, youngest daughter of John Rankine of Adamhill. Rankine married John Merry, inn-keeper at New Cumnock, the year this was written, and it is unlikely she and Burns had a relationship together.
