Montagu-Stuart-Wortley, Hon. Francis Dudley, a member of the Northern circuit, J.P., D.L. Yorks West Riding, J.P. for the North Riding, assumed the additional surname and arms of Montagu by royal licence 18 Oct., 1880, heir presumptive to his brother Lord Wharncliffe, a student of the Inner Temple 2 May, 1851 (then aged 21), called to the bar 1 May, 1854 (2nd son of John, 2nd Lord Wharncliffe, dec.); born 23 July, 1829; married 28 Aug., 1855, Maria Elizabeth, eldest dau. of late William Bennet Martin, Esq., of Worsborough Hall, Yorks, and has issue (see Foster's Peerage).
