Pollock, Sir Charles Edward, a Justice of High Court of Justice, Queen's Bench Division, since 1879, baron of the exchequer 1873-5, of Exchequer Division of High Court 1875-9, marshal to the lord chief baron 1846, J.P. Surrey, joint author of Practice of the County Courts and of County Courts' Equitable Jurisdiction Act, educated at St. Paul's School, a student of the Inner Temple 18 Jan., 1842 (then aged 18), called to the bar 29 Jan., 1847, Q.C. 23 July, 1866, bencher 16 Nov., 1866, serjeant-at-law 13 Jan., 1873 (4th son of Rt. Hon. Sir Frederick Pollock, Bart., lord chief baron of the exchequer); born 31 Oct., 1823; married thrice (see Foster's Baronetage).
