Announcement



Whereas, by the royal rescript dated 2 March 2477 Buddhist Era,[1] 13:45 hours (in England), His Majesty King Maha Prajadhipok Phra Pokklao Chaoyuhua has abdicated the royal throne from then on, and the House of Representatives has acknowledged it;

Whereas the dispositions of section 9 of the Constitution require that succession to the royal throne take place in accordance with the gist of the Palace Law on Succession, 2467 BE, together with the approval of the House of Representatives;

Whereas His Majesty the King waived His royal right to appoint any member of the Grand Royal Household as His heir according to the dispositions of section 5 of the Palace Law on Succession, 2467 BE;

Whereas His Highness Prince Ananda Mahidol is the first member of the Grand Royal Household in the line of succession as mentioned in section 9 of the Palace Law on Succession, 2467 BE;
