Luang Saengnitisat said: "I originally had no intention to amend [the name]. But I saw the statement of the President of the Subcommittee which stated His Majesty the King's objection to the terms 'People's Committee' and 'Member of the People's Committee'. As we have contemplated about amending these two terms, I then think of amending the term 'House of Representatives'[1] too so that it be in agreement therewith."
The President of the Constitution Drafting Subcommittee said: "According to that statement, His Majesty the King did actually advise against the term 'People's Committee'. He said it is not in line with the convention of the constitutional monarchy. As regards the term 'House of Representatives', he agreed with it, saying it is already proper, but I forgot to write about this in the statement."
Nai Charun Na Bangchang said: "My opinion corresponds to that of Luang Saeng, as my intention is that there be connection between the House of Representatives and the People's Committee. If the name of the People's Committee is changed to something else, [the two organisations] would become separated, and I fear that they might turn into two chambers."
