זנן (sec. r. of זנה) to be faithless, suspected of faith- lessness. -- Part. pass. זנון, pl. זנונים of spurious paternity. Pes. 87a bot. ז׳ בנים לך ותוליד and she will bear thee spurious sons; ib b ז׳ ובניך; v. ונונים. Pi. זנן to think of faithlessness. Sot. 10a, v. זנה.
זנק, Pi. זינק (b. h.) 1) to squirt, sputter, eject with force. Nidd. 59b במזנקת it means a woman discharging urin in a gush. Hull. 38aזינקה the animal's blood sputtered (when its jugular arteries were cut). Y. Yoma I, 39a bot. חוטמו תולעים מזנק his nose discharging worms. -- 2) [to make a persons' mouth water,] to make a person sick by with. holding from him a desired dish. Ex. R. s. 16, end אתם וכ׳ בני את זינקתם ye made my children sick by withhold- ing from them meat, when ye ate &c. Hif. הזניק to drop, to pour. Y. Sabb. VIII, 11b bot. שנו במזניק the Mishnah means when one uses pitch or sulphur in a liquid state.

IX, 13c bot. אני עולמי מזעזע I will make my world quake. Orl. I, 3 זיעזעתו המחרישה the ploughshare loosened it (the roots of the tree); בעפר ועשאו זיעזעו he (the husbandman) lifted the tree and placed it in soft earth (v. comment.). זעטוט (זאטוט, זטוט) m. (redupl. of עט, v. זוטא) young man, youth, student. -- Pl. זעטוטים, constr. זעטוטי (a Variant of נערי, Ex. XXIV, 5, because נערי ad- mmts of the meaning of servants, slaves, Greek tt~a~e~). Sifre Deut. 356 (v. מעון a. היא) and one manuscript existed in the Temple which was named זעטוטים ספר the Book of Za atutim (containing זעטוטי for נערי); Treaf. Sof'rim VI, 4 זאטוטי; Y. Taan. IV, 68c bot. עטוטי. -- Meg. 9a (reported as one of the changes in the Greek translation of the Pentateuch, and ref. to נערי l. c., and to אצילי Ex. XXIV, 11) זאטוטי ed. (Ms. Par. זע׳, oth. mss. a.
